1) The MJ-12 “package” is not one document—it’s a corpus

When people say “the MJ-12 documents,” they usually mean a family of papers circulated in the 1980s and onward, including:

• A purported presidential-level briefing (often called the Eisenhower Briefing Document)

• Memos referencing “MJ-12” or “MAJIC” control structures

• Claims of recoveries, biological remains, and long-term secrecy

The critical point: these materials largely arrived as copies (film/photocopies), with incomplete provenance.

2) The “Cutler/Twining memo” remains a focal point because it appears in archival discussion

The U.S. National Archives has acknowledged widespread public interest in a memo referencing “NCS/MJ-12 Special Studies Project,” dated July 14, 1954.
